Today the Green flag awards were announced and Bushey has gain a new flag and retain two of our long term holders.
The Mary Forsdyke Garden and Warren Lake, in Bushey Heath, has won the award for the first year. The park was greatly improved last year. The lake had the silt build up removed,a wildflower meadow was planted and a Christmas tree was added as well as boardwalk across the lake. The garden hosted the Bushey Acoustic Festival earlier this year and it well deserves this award.
The King George Recreation Ground in Bushey, has had a Green Flag for an impressive 20 years, the longest in Hertsmere.
For the 10th time Fishers Field Nature Reserve in Bushey received a special Green Flag Community Award. This recognises the work done by local volunteers who work with HBC to look after the site.
The Bushey Rose Garden received Green Heritage Site accreditation because of its historic features and standard of conservation, for the 8th year in a row.
